Historic structures dot the main campus, north of College Street, including Howard Hall (1869), Andrew Rankin Memorial Chapel (1895), the Founders Library (1937), the Gallery of Art, Frederick Douglass Hall, the Carnegie Building, and the historic Ira Aldridge Theatre. The main 250 acre campus also houses the Armour J. Blackburn University Center; Cramton Auditorium; Locke Hall; the Mordecai Wyatt Johnson Administration Building; the Graduate School; and the Colleges of Arts and Sciences, Business, Communications, Social Work, Dentistry, Medicine, Engineering, Architecture, Computer Sciences, Pharmacy, Nursing, and Allied Health Sciences. Other nearby campuses house the School of Law, the Divinity School, and the School of Continuing Education. Also found on Howard's main campus is the Moorland-Spingarn Research Center, which houses the world's largest repository of research about African-Americans and persons of African descent.
